I've enjoyed and exceled at math my whole life. I enjoy the structure and logic of math and embrace the challenge of transferring that feeling to others regardless of their current math mastery. I have taught and tutored elementary and middle school math students to NC state standards for the past 3 years with successful growth across all grade levels.
I have also thoroughly enjoyed reading and writing both fiction and non-fiction from elementary school when I began to read The Boxcar Children series which quickly led to me discovering The Hardy Boys. I used to read a book per week but life and other responsibilities has reduced me to only a book per month reader at the moment. I currently assist with phonics, vocabulary building, and reading and writing proficiency with 4th and 5th grade scholars for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
